Although it was disappointing to lose to Donny yet again it's not the end of the world. A win on Tuesday will put today's debacle into perspective and make us realize that even a good side loses matches on it's way to promotion. However,a nagging doubt over this squad's lack of character still remains in my mind, even the average Reds sides of the past had the bottle to raise their game for the big local grudge games but this lot seem to go down far too easily against particularly determined opposition, no matter how average they may be. Should we be worrying or not?
NOT Definately not. Weve always had bogey teams and always will. Wednesday and Port Vale away immediately spring to mind. This "Battling reds" ideal is a rose tinted view. Ive watched the reds for 28 seasons and ive seen some pretty woeful displays home and away as well as the battling ones. We certainly shouldnt get too carried away by what we saw yesterday and have only to look back to the previous home game against Bristol to find a "battling" reds display. YOOOOO REDSSSSS!!!!
