In the first half the ref stopped the game for an head injury when we had the ball on the halfway line, it was restarted with Perkins giving their keeper the ball. In the second half they played on when they had a player down injured until we forced their player into a corner he couldn't get out of so he kicked the ball out because he had no alternative. We gave it them back then too. Sporting from us or just plain stupid?
I agree, don't think we should have given it back on either. Should be up to the ref to stop the game. They were under pressure to lose the ball on both occasions, and then they get it back with no pressure on them. Doesn't seem fair. I miss the competitive drop balls.
Stupid. No in the rules that you have to give the ball back. To me if you are winning 3-0 then its nice to be nice. But if you are chasing the game and need every help to get back in a game, I say **** them and just get on with the game.
Agree. Particularly the incident in the second half when Spearing went down. I would have told them to ballacks.
Completely agree re: the second incident, it was stupid to give the ball back under the circumstances.
Agree. They looked if they could make anything of their attack and when they couldn't they used the injury as an excuse to kick it out. Speaking of injuries on their team why did the ref let bogdan fake an injury for so long at the end. THAT is unsporting.
