Is what we're all thinking now that a reliable Merseyside Journo is reporting Man City would pay up to £50 million for Stones.

£8bn Sky deal. Obscene. There is poverty, war, famine & disease round the world. £8bn, straight into the pockets of footballers and agents

My neighbour pays £90 per month for his Sky. £90 per month! £90 PER MONTH!

He thinks it's really good value. While ever people think like that the problems at the top of football will continue.

That is a waste of money when you can get it for about £20 a year these days.

My sky bill is £120 a month. Well, £119.50 or summat like that.

That has my phone line, unlimited fibre broadband, 3D and a multiroom subscription, but still.

I'm genuinely shocked at that. I don't have a landline and pay £8 per month for my mobile, but I do share next door's Wifi. I really didn't realise that people paid so much every month.

I pay 20€ per month for mine and there are avenues to explore which include free sports channels, ahem.

I pay £50 and think it's worth it. I get broadband, landline which we don't use and Sky TV plus sports. I like it because there's the footy, cricket and darts on there and the ability to record what I want and watch it whenever which you don't get with these dodgy boxes. It's also got iplayers etc on so really handy just to download programmes onto the box and watch them.

That does my head in. Why are people prepared to pay nearly £20 per month for something which they don't use? It boggles my mind. I'll never, ever have a landline again. Ever.

What's the alternative, if you don't live in a fibre area?

    Mobile broadband http://www.solwise.co.uk/3g-routers.htm

It's not for everyone, if you are a high user and download videos, movies etc, it will work out too expensive, and it depends on location as to whether you can get a good signal. If however you just use it for general web browsing, messing about on Farcebook and writing ****** on here, it's fine.

It's just a way to get internet. We get 'free' internet but just look at the overall package and I'm happy with what we get.

We pay about £30 a month to Virgin for internet, phone line (incl. free calls) and 'medium' tv package which we don't use as we don't have a tv.
