Millwall came with the intention of getting about us and upsetting our young squad with a physical approach and at times over physical not that the ref noticed but we matched them and our superior technical ability shone through and we won the game. It was nice to see us getting stuck in and having a go it gets the fans going and seems to get the players pumped up. Not sure if it was the extra maturity of the squad with White Long and Hammil or were just growing as a group but we would have folded not so long back when they equalised yesterday instead the crowd got behind them and we got the winner. Last week and this week we've shown enough to suggest we can push into mid table if we can add one or two this month.
Both Wigan and Millwall got away with a hell of a lot of blatant Shirt Pulling in recent games. cant believe the refs missed it. More like they were turning a blind eye to it
It's almost as if Refs accept that this is a league where bullying, pushing and pulling is allowed. Just glad skill won over a game vs donkeys. Gregory is wasted in that team.
Refs have a great deal to answer for, they have set out rules to apply, and they just don't do it. Holding, pushing, pulling, wrestling players to the ground, are not open to interpretation. They are fouls, and should be given. This argument that it is a mans game is a load of crap.
They did try to sign Hanson numerous times which pretty much sums up their approach. Agree about Gregory shame he didn't come here.
