Still annoying me that Crawley result. A team of cloggers who bullied us and got away with every niggle in the book. Didn't deserve what they stole from our table. Bet the players and fans were still laughing about it when they were getting off the M23
Crawley were cynical, the ref was poor but we were rubbish too. The first game was always going to be a bit of a reality check.
We weren't at it at all on opening day. Very poor in truth. They weren't much better like, but they were better than us and in my opinion deserved the victory. They've gone downhill badly since, we've gone the other way, which was always likely with the talent at Danny's disposal getting used to him and each other.
Other results bare no relevance to how we've gone on. It's still early days. At first, I thought a point down at Coventry was a good one, but after watching them last night, they looked average at best. Our first real test will come next week against MK Dons.
It is not right to draw conclusions from even our next game. We have ( I think) only played teams who are now in the lower half of the league, so I see your point. A few who post on here seem to think that we're gonna be top 6 comfortable Unless we improve this will not happen Early days...
Only concern for me is we've only looked comfortable against Gillingham, in all the other games we've held on at times. The better teams are still to come so I'm reserving judgment for now. If we keep grinding results out we'll do fine.
Crawley began their relegation fight against us, simple as that we were just out of the mould as it were and they took the advantage.... wait while we go down there.. they will get a reyt hiding.
I think it's fantastic we are beating Lower placed league teams while still gelling and players getting to know one another. Over the last few years it drove me mad seeing us match or beat higher league teams only to get bullied and lose to lower placed teams such as bloody Wednesday. I think we have the players to absolutely anhilalate any team at this level that gives us time and space on the ball. Footballing wise there will be few teams with players of our quality in this league.
We're still a developing team. There's only Cranie, Nyatanga & Jennings involved who were here last season. Just about the whole squads under 25 so they'll only get better. Other results don't mean a lot. Bradford might have just had an off day, they could have a few out injured, Yeovil might not play as well again all season, who knows. On the Crawley match we definitely didn't deserve to win that, maybe could've got a draw but for all we tried to play football we had no attacking threat & they looked threatening whenever they attacked us
Definately. The first game this season against a settled league one side who every year are genuine promotion contenders. We will hopefully see next week how far our team has come since the Crawley game.
Next 4 games and then I think we'll see where we are, mk dons (will be in top 10 imo) fleetwood (playing well) port vale (good league1 side and a tough place to go) Swindon (will be in top 10 imo). Personally I'd take 7 points now. UpTheReds! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
