At the moment, it seems like they are both struggling, especially Shukes, anybody else think we should give them both a rest and play Hayes and Howard on wings instead? I think Howard made the difference today when he came on because he just added a bit of life, and Disco was able to run at that big ginner number 3.

It's not the players teams are doing their homework on us may be we should try a different formation

might be the long high ball that is not suiting these 2 players, as they both like ball to feet and when we was playing it like that they was ripping teams apart week in week out

Nah, nothing is coming off for Shiker at the moment.

Too many attacks breakdown thro' Shuker. At lest Devaney had some end result.
Today we had some good players in Red shirts playing badly, and some poor players in Black working hard and playing above themselves.I like Shuker but he needs a spell on the bench.

Personally would rest Shuker, play Devaney on right and Howard on left. Think we play well when Howard and Mcphail are on field together

Shuker got plenty of wide ball in space..

...I know that sounds a bit Big Ron[IMG]

But its true, lots of posession in plenty of space and only once got a decent cross in.

Seems to have lost the ability he had to poke the ball past a man and beat him over 10yds.

Time for a rest for him, either on the bench or even out of the squad for a week.

Devaney was much better and caused problems albeit against a very poor side.

It's not that they are struggling

The team are obsessed with constantly playing the ball wide and expecting these guys to deliver every week. The opposition know how we are going to play and they set up accordingly. The fact is, we have become over reliant on our wide men.

We had one or two good break aways this afternoon and each time the ball was played out wide rather than through the middle.

BTW, I though Hayes did pretty well out on the wing last week. Is that what got you thinking?

hayes should be played in midfield,i think he could develop into a quality attacking midfield player, cos he certainly won,t make a quality striker.

    Been sussed as strengths...

so sides may be putting wide midfielders to cover, but this should create more space through the middle. A Glavin-type of midfield goalscorer should have a field-day in that case. Why did I just think of Dean Windass - played midfield today and scored!!! Just a thought.

But if they're as good as everyone* says, they'll cope and still influence the game.

    If they're not, they won't.

    Simple really.

*Well, I say 'everyone'. I mean 99.9% of fans, obviously.
