Hope that Davey doesn’t think that team in that formation is the way forward for the rest of this season. From my view point on Saturday we did try to mix up the way we played, 40% football mixed with 60% long passes (long balls). Can’t for the life of me remember us winning any contested long ball aimed at our front two, like taking candy from a baby. The only time we won anything in the air was when Macken came on, this gave us a foot hold and allowed our midfield to get forward in support. To playing the system he played Saturday needs a good target man that can hold the ball up and in Bogdanovic’s own words “ I’m no target man”. Can’t for the live of me see why he’s brought in like for like players when it’s blatantly obvious that we need a good target man. Would much rather we played with wingers at home and not compress things down the middle of the park. Think he’s setting his stall out not to lose games but when we’re at home we should be going all out to win them. Only reason I can think of him playing Bogdanovic and Mifsod together is to hit teams on the break., a tactic more suited to playing away from home and not a positive tactic at home.
