The players should have been identified a long time ago, they should be in now with the rest of the squad for pre season training

Last week Davey said that targets were identified and bids had been put in,what more do you want the bloke to do.Its the time of year where players have the upper hand and will consider all offers.Apart from a couple of clubs the Championship deals are very quiet at the moment.

From the initial bid for Hume it took nearly 2 months for him to sign on the dotted line at oakwell. I can remember a manager on ssn last year saying that transfers these days don't just take a week or 2 anymore.

90% of the clubs haven't signed anyone yet

Give em a chance. Everyone deserves a summer break. Its ages til the first game of the season.

Everyone wants top brass for their players this early on and start getting nervous when the deadline comes to a close. Plus players wants to speak to their management team to see if they are in their plans. Hamill for example.

I expect another couple of quiet weeks.

Players will definitely be brought in. The question is will they be any good or will they be the ***** we have become accustomed to like Diego Leon?

My money is on the latter.

when you say it's ages till the season starts don't you mean there are 25 days training?

Give it another two weeks as you suggest and there will be just 15 days for the whole team to retrain to work with a new player. Not a lot of time in reality.

I just think it stinks that in his interviews Davey is suggesting that we are going to be LOOKING for new players now. That should have been done a month ago. We should be making offers for the players that we have already identified by now

Your suggesting we haven't identified and made offers.

We have. Adam for one, which has been well publicised.

We as the fans never know whats going on behind closed doors. Do you want Davey to give you a list of all the players he's looking at and whether he's lodged bids for them?

The bulk of the squad isn't going to change. You know the keeper. You know the back four. You know 3 of the 4 midfielders. You know the 4 strikers for two positions. We are not making wholesale changes here. Any player breaking into the first 11 will have to be pretty good and I suggest quite high profile for Barnsley. Those type of players will have had a pre-season under their belts and should be good enough to step right in.

who are three out of the four midfielders?

Because by my reckoning we don't have an attacking midfielder or a left winger. We have four strikers and none of them should be first choice. We have no proper left back yet.

And I'm sure I read that davey was going to have to be more fan friendly, was goignt to have to jusfity his job to us and was going to have to be more open. Thats turned out well so far hasnt it.

Hume I don't think is good enough as our main striker. Excellent as someone on the bench though for me. Boggy i'm still not entirely sure on. Was he that good last year or was it simply a case of he looked good compared to the alternatives?

3 days in to the transfer window yes

And I've got no problem with the fact that we havent got anyone to sign on the dotted line yet but the fact that in interviews davey has said he needs to identify players is very worrying. That should have been done a month ago but davey was pissing about doing a second job in america.

    I think we have to

And I don't mean spend more than 1.2m either, Hume was overpriced.
