    Amongst others. Takje yer pick.

I know that funds at the club will be tight, but if we had someone up front who could stick the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis, we'd be a top half team. Right now, we are making too many silly mistakes and they are costing us big time, due to the fact that we can't make amends at the other end of the pitch.

I know that Hume is a big loss to us, but he cost us £1.2 million and for me, even though we've brought in Cureton, we have no one at the club who looks as threatening as Hume up front.

We need to invest in January.

    COME ON YOU REDS!!!

    He is an excellent signing...

I still believe he will score some goals for us. But he's 33 now, and he's very much in the twilight of his career. We need to be looking at not only now, but the future. Jamie Cureton is and has been a brilliant striker in his career, you don't lose that skill and talent. Perhaps once he gets a goal, he will start finishing off a few of the chances for us.

I'm just eyeballing here. Of course, I don't know our financial situation.

But forking out £1.2 million on Hume indicates to me that perhaps, we are in a pretty good situation. That's a helluva lot of money for someone who only averages around 10 goals a season.

Jamie Ward's contract is up in the summer I believe so he would be well within our price range

whether or not he's good enough for this level is difficult to say

I'm afraid you do lose that skill and talent

That's why footballers start retiring at about Cureton's age.

Super Johnny Hendrie still had it!

    :)

You know what I'm saying though. Cureton is adequate for now, but we need to invest for the future.

    Simon Cox for me.

Spot on! I'm certain that it's no coincidence that of all the strikers we have, none are scoring. Does that make them all ****? No way, supply is very limited and we are expecting them to score every single opportunity they get. The only player who seems to get chances is Oddjob, yet unfortunately he fluffs most of them. DOes this say that what we really need is someone in his mould with his strength, but one that can actually finish a few more and bring others into play? I think this is the type of player we need IMO, not the small goalscorers.
