    Don't think so

    Pretty sure the news was leaked about 5pm - and that was on Radio Sheffield wasn't it? His agent also came on that night.

    Davey certainly wasn't the first to confirm it and only did when Chesterfield said at their end.

    A link to the Star website article was posted on here the morning of the same day and had quoted comments from Davey.

    People only became aware of the Ward deal at around 5pm one night - and I'm sure his agent was on in that same night.

    The club may have responded the next morning, but it definitely wasn't them who announced it (or the Star for that matter).
