and we're not interested in Bishop. Straight from the horses mouth. Well, Mark Stokes's site anyway.

Mr Stokes knows some clog iron

For someone who isn't an employee of the club or has access to the inner workings of Oakwell and that.

He does a nice hatchet job on ex players though, so it's probably a good job he has no official connection to Barnsley FC cos what he said about Howard was childish, petulant and wholly unprofessional in the extreme in my opinion.

    he's just ..................

a mouthpiece-it allows the club to say things they wouldn't put on the "official" site

as I've said before i think/hope we'll pull out of the Premier TV deal when the contract is up and run our own website and this is the beta version

Mark Stokes could get Clint Marcelle in as Chief Sports Editor

    Our transfer policy

quality not quantity. only looking at loans. looking for another Muller or Souza. we want a striker on a permanent deal. not willing to pay over the odds. money to spend. Is Peter talking to Paul?

Stop gap until Hume fit ?

Risky cos Saturday showed up our striker deficiencies and our 'better, more competitive squad'....

We are missing Devaney big style as well, because unless JCR creates something, nothing happens.

    We need two strikers

Hume might turn out to be one, but even with him fully fit, we still need someone for him to play alongside. Those 3 that played on Sat arent good enough if we want to finish in the top half.

And we still need a left back. Even with Devaney playing out of position at left midfield.

Big nasty fcker and a poacher type

    ie Hume.

Macken valuable to squad, Cureton ? maybe, maybe not. Odejayi, all been said and Rigters - hardly grabbed his chance to impress.

And we don't need no left footers it seems. Imbalance 'r' us.

    I know somebody last week

Who rang the club switchboard and asked to be put through to Mark Stokes.

The Assistant said "Please hold and I'll put you through"

    Not an employee 'my arse'.

More pressure on him getting it right this time

previously, I think any new face has been welcomed as being better than what we've got, but now I think the calibre of what he signs will be questioned. An unknown foreigner playing average standard somewhere abroad will get a negative response, as would a lower league player with 'potential' cos thats been tried. I sincerely hope he's looking at getting someone in that has a track record, perhaps on the fridge of a Premierships squad but that has done it before in the Championship. With 2 loan strikers in the starting line up on Sat, I suspect he's looking at a permanent signing, just hope he's brave enough to spend above a million quid again.

    Looking at the sides strengthening

and those with large squads aiming to reduce their wage bill, theres a few strikers likely to be available. Stoke, Sunderland and Birmingham have strikers not getting a game that would potentially be in our price range, some will have agents working right now on getting them fixed up.

    That's good isn't it?

It means we find out things that we otherwise wouldn't. Things that wouldn't be politically correct for the club to divulge.
