Still not changed my mind about him. Clueless.

Going back to the start of the season when i said i didnt want him at the club it was at least 9-1 in favour of Davey being in charge.
Hearing comments at the match yesterday views appear to be starting to vary a bit.
Anyone on here changed their minds about him? Or anyone still sticking to their guns?

Beginning to change my mind BUT

I'm not sure it would be in the interests of the club to change manager again.

Davey will live or die according to who he signs in the summer, and how they perform. His stubborness is persevering with **** players i.e. Odejayi, Hassell in midfield has cost us far, far too much this season and although I believe we will escape relegation it will be by the skin of our teeth.

Not to mention his man-management (Christensen etc).

Yes we have been unlucky at times and maybe we should have had a pen yesterday but it's plain for all to see that we have assembled a team that cannot score goals, and that can only be Davey's fault.

Not yet, but he will need a good start next season to keep fans off his back ( whatever league we are in )

    Still sticking to my guns

He's the right man for the job.

If we are in the same position this time next season then I think it may be time to seriously consider his position.

I have seen improvements this season and that was what I expected at the start of the season. The league improvement has only been marginal and I have been a little disappointed by this. However, on the whole and taking the cup run into consideration I think it is fair to say we have seen improvement.

I suppose it depends what you regard as improvement

Seeing us still not safe with two games left (regardless of the number of points) is exactly the same position as we were in last season. So in my eyes no improvement

his good signings ie Muller, Foster, Macken, De Silva and JCR are offset with numerous players who have failed to do it at this level. So again no improvement

Beating Liverpool and in particular Chelsea are offset by Daveys knack of cocking it up with poor tactics in the league. No improvement overall

The home form which up until the last 3 home defeats was excellent but offset by an appalling run away (bar the last 2) means very little now. So no improvement

And dont get me started on his man management which i think is much worse than Ritchies.

I think we are a better team and squad than last season

    Therefore, an improvement.

    statistically we have improved

more points than last season and a cup semi final...thats what Davey will point to....

the irony is that we could go still go down.....how many people think we will get points from our last 2 games...

Everyone is an armchair manager - we pay our money so that's our right I suppose. That being said, on some of the key issues I think Davey has been unlucky. The signing of Anderson Da Silva was a massive achievement that I didn't believe we were capable of - the fact that he has got injured so seriously and so shortly afterwards is a cruel twist of fate. That one player makes so much difference to the quality of our side. I don't know the ins and outs of Christianson (sorry can't spell his name) - so how can I comment? Something must have gone off - you don't just get rid of a decent player for nothing. Some people want Davey to be in the wrong and take sides without knowing what the issue is. Maybe Christanson is a complete ***** and Davey is showing some integrity to stand up to him and keep him and his bad attitude out of the camp?

People slag off the signings that have been made, but I genuinely believe that Davey has shown some ambition in the transfer market and largely we're a better side now than the one that came out of the pub league. I don't think we've made much improvement up front, but when fully fit our defence and midfield are considerably better.

I worry sometimes because Davey doesn't seem able to make match changing substitutions, he just kind of throws on another striker and crosses his fingers. Yesterday Leicester seemed well prepared and had a plan to deal with us on the day - I'm not sure we were as well prepared and I think we got done as a result of that.

Davey is not a ten out ten genius manager - but he's good enough, and I think we should weather the storm this season, see how we go next year, and always be reluctant to sack a guy when there is nothing better out there willing to come to us. We've gone through that downward spiral of manager after manager - let's try and get back to where we were in the eighties and nineties when we could keep a manager and sustain a little stability. It's going to be bad enough trying to get a decent chairman to come in.

But nowhere as good as we could have been had he not signed players only to ignore them or farm them out elsewhere.Still do'nt understand the mans pig headedness in playing players out of position its as if hes on a mission to prove himself reight and **** the consequences.

    RE: statistically we have improved

I think we have improved but I think the quality of the league has improved a bit more, hence the more points but still same position situation, think it woulfd be a mistake to get rid now because we'll never get out of the endless cycle of sacking managers.
Give him next season and then if no further improvement it will be time to get rid.

Stubbornness is rarely a positive trait in one's character

Sticking to your guns irrespective of the ultimate outcome shows a high level of narrow mindedness which can, at times, lead to bigotry.
When Simon Davey gets things right, I'll praise him. If, in my opinion, he gets things wrong, then I'll criticise.
With the utmost respect, I reserve the right to have a certain flexibility in my views and refuse to dance to the beat of another person's drum.

Can't see how we can have a better squad

when we have one injury in midfield and we have to play a right back there to cover because the manager feels he has no-one else.

A winger is injured and we have to resort to playing a central midfielder in his position as we have no cover for wingers in the squad.

We have strikers that have failed to score all season and can't change them because the manager feels he has nobody in the squad capable of replacing them.

One keeper gets injured and we have to make an emergancy loan signing. Previously we had two capable keepers.

    Changed my mind?

No. People far more qualified than any of us on here rate him highly. I go with their judgement.
