it will be at least the Donnie home game before any serious concerns will be raised by the decision maker.
going away to possibly the strongest team in the division and changing to a new formation = disaster waiting to happen. Did well to get away with 2. This is now his team and look where we are.......things need to improve quickly.
let's see where we are at the end of October. Commentary team said we played well today.... silly defensive slip ups and bad finishing.
Will Simon Davey be allowed To have the same sort of start to the season that Brian Laws did, last year? By the end of October, we'll have played 14 league games (including home & away against Donny and home to Wednesday) and, if we're still in the relegation places, I'd be very surprised if he were still our manager.
Do you think he should Kev ? Lasy year we were in the top six at the end of October... after picking up 1 point from the first 2 games. Also we were scrating around at the end of the season to stay up. This season we may start badly and then pick up and finish mid table.
A season is 46 games not 3 !!!!

At this moment in time I've lost all confidence in Simon Davey, mate. However, it isn't my responsibility to back him or sack him. That burden rests with Patrick Cryne. Simon Davey has said that we don't need to bring any new players in and he's happy to go with what we've got. It's my personal opinion that he's totally wrong. I put my faith in Davey to bring in quality players this summer and strengthen key positions, especially after Mr Cryne publicly stated 'significant' funds would be made available to do so. Again, in my opinion, the manager has failed to deliver. I accept that my opinions may put me in the minority amongst the fans. However, these are not comments I make lightly. In the past I've often been accused of being a happy clapper and I'll admit that I'm usually one of life's optimists. I'm finding it very difficult to keep my spirits up just now.
Do you think the board came good on its promise Or raised expectations beyond a realistic level? Not knocking them at all because I think we should only spend what we bring in but have we really had that much to spend
Fair enough Kev, I don't agree with you but youdon't criticise lightly so you must really believe this.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what people said under Andy Ritchie. We were playing good attacking football and creating chances, but could not convert them.......ever. We're still losing.
If Patrick Cryne states That significant funds are available to Simon Davey, I for one will place in writing that I believe him and think he's telling the truth. If anyone else thinks otherwise, then they can always do the same.
To be fair if Cryne, who i have every faith in, has made funds available and Davey hasn't spent them he probably won't last long as thats what did for Richie.
We keep getting the argument from certain quarters, that Davey's record for finding good players, justifies his place as Manager of BFC. I have to admit that some good players have been signed since he took over but regrettably, there have also been some poor ones. Unfortunately, he only seems able to see the "potential" of the poorer ones and most of the better ones don't get picked regularly. I have always thought that most managers, don't actually find new players themselves but have scouts etc. to make the initial contacts, with the manager having the final say. Is this not the case with Simon Davey, does he do it all himself? In my naivety, I have also always thought that the manager/coach's job, was to then develop the new players, alongside the existing ones and to bring out the best in all of them to produce a squad capable of at least holding it's own in what ever level of football they are playing. If my foregoing assumptions are correct, then maybe we should re-assign Davey as Chief Scout and get someone else to do the Manager/Coach's job because IMHO, he appears to be better (marginally) at finding players, than he is at managing/coaching them.
We seem to have got some quite good players who occupy the same position (Devaney/JCR, Howard/Leon/De Silva/Colace(?)) then nothing much in other areas, mainly defence. In some ways likeEngland with lots of central midfield players and nothing on the left.
It's alright having good players in more or less the same positions, but can they play together? Leon and Howard just dosn't work for me, Souza and Moore are to much of the same,(slow and are prone to indecision) Devaney and EL Haimour (twins). I'm sure Davey will get it right once he has a fit and complete squad to choose from. But much as though i admire Davey, the new players he has brought in, some how just don't cut it. Still it's only the start of the season, and hopefully by Christmas we will be in the top half of the league. That's my prediction anyway.
