    POST MATCH COMMENTS FROM OAKWELL
Posted on: Sat 22 Mar 2008

REDS boss Simon Davey gave his thoughts following today's local derby defeat by Sheffield United.

Simon said: "It was not a great result and defiantly not the one we wanted or deserved. On reflection I thought that we were the better team, created the better chances and should have had a definite penalty in the first half.

"We should have probably had two more penalties in the second half as well.

"I cannot fault my players because the work rate and endeavour was there. We were the better team and are very, very disappointed.

"It was nothing to do with the weather even though it was a little wild out there. We have lost a game where we have been the better side throughout and that is bitterly disappointing.

"We have played well again and got nothing. The lads are not thinking about Wembley and it is not effecting there performances. We were the better side but we will have to fight another day.

"The referee knows it was a penalty in the first half. I have seen the video and it is a definite penalty.

"People are talking a lot about Wembley but we have to go about our business. We were the better side and it would be a different story if the three penalty shouts had gone our way.

"It is a low day for us but we will pick them up and get ready for Burnley next weekend".

Yes we should have has a coyple of pens , but so should they, the Blunts hit the post and Steele made a couple of fine saves, yet Davey only sees what he wants to .
Leon is too light weight, yes he had a good shot saved . but thats all he did. Hassell still not good enough in midfield, Nyatanga still young and makes mistakes, strikers, do we have any?
KO is bringing Macken down to his level.

thought Hassell played well actually, but the whole team looked weak. ie in all the 50/50 challenges ShefU went in and came out on top

Davey comes out and says we were by far the better side. Sorry Simon but dont agree with you there at all. Yes we should have had a definate penalty but we have had our own fare share of luck this season. The fact of the matter is we are in the **** and with Burnley and Watfordd away to come next i cant see us taking any points from those.

Do'nt know why he sets himself up for it
