Well done Simon, you will probably get warned for it, but it needed to be said! I like the "my players had to play against 12 men" line
Five Paragraphs......... and very little that doesn't mention the ref. I understand the ref had a stinker, but he wasn't at fault for conceeding another three set pieces.
I'm really pleased to see him say that to be honest... I was worried he would let it slide, but he's stood up for himself and the team against the referee. He'll get in trouble for it, but I'm pleased hes had the passion and anger to do it.
He does a good job of avoiding the issues doesnt he Blames it all on the ref. I take it the ref was the one who put 3 past muller then
Sorry, but you lot complain about him when he doesnt show passion. The bloke can't win really can he? He can't speak to them for an hour about everything that went wrong - the stuff about the players will be kept in-house I'm sure.
Playing with 10 men for a debatable decision... didnt help either and choosing to ignore what sounds like a blatant handball. We wait to see the highlights too i guess.
And we know that would have happened if Campbell-Ryce hadn't been sent off? My uni mate who supports Bristol City says he couldn't believe Campbell Ryce got sent off for it. John Salako said stonewall penalty. That would have been us 3-2 up with 11 men. We controlled the second half, and then we're denied another penalty in the last minute? After being told we're the best team to come to Ashton Gate this season, and having it admitted to me by a Bristol City fan that the referee was unbelievably biased against us and cost us the game. Yes, we conceded 3 goals that sounded like poor goals. But they're all from set pieces given by a referee who gave us nothing for 95 minutes and sent one of our players off for being tripped over.
That's true But we still conceded 3 goals. I just don't like to see managers blame the referee. Credit to Davey, I've never heard him do it before, so maybe the ref really was a stinker, but I still wish he'd kept quiet on the subject.
Is that the first time he has done that? Was a bit surprised to be honest - so it must have been bad....
I wouldn't expect him to slate his players publicly For conceeding three goals to set pieces, but I'd be surprised if it isn't discussed behind closed doors (perhaps very strongly, too). However, the decisions by the referee to turn down two penalty appeals and send off a player for diving certainly played a huge part in the final scoreline.
