    Appears unwilling to play him in the first team. Whether that's due to Heslop's lack of ability, or Mr Davey simply not rating him, I don't know.

    Academy youngsters

    Generally seem not to make the step to 1st team at Barnsley.</p>

    SM will pillock me for this like but Heslop should've been pushed into the 1st team squad a year or two since imvho. </p>

    Football's all about opinions though.</p>

    However, if what was reported on BBC Radio Incestfield and the official website is to be believed, we are going to Swansea minus Leon, DeSilva, Devaney and Whalley's gone back to Preston.</p>

    That suggests to me Hassell central midfield and some poor unfortunate stuck left side midfield. Mostto perhaps, because he sure as hell isn't going to be given a chance as a centre forward on current events.

    Didn't Simon Davey say in the summer

    That he was allowing Togwell & Johnson to leave as it would free up the opportunities for Butterfield to enhance his claims for a first team place?

    Atkinson certainly doesn't seem to have

    Made the type of progress we were all hoping for. After his performances two seasons ago, I thought we may have quite a decent player on our hands. Unfortunately, that does not now appear to be the case for our young centre half.

    If Leon, El Haimour, Mostto, Van Homoet and Whaley can get into our first team squad I've no idea why Potter, Atkinson, Butterfield, Adam and Heslop can't.

    I've no idea why, either

    I'd love to see some of our young players given the opportunity to show what they can do. It may also save the club a bit of money in the transfer market.

    Chance would be a fine thing. He would rather bring in foreigners or useless loan signings. Jamil Adam for example cannot do worse than Odejayi.

    Robert Atkinson is rated highly in the lower leagues. Simon Hesllop got returned from the codheads and butterfield went on trial there
