I see a lot of people mentioning Simpson taking Preston to the top of the championship in his time there. That Preston team was probably one of if not the best sides in the league at that moment. Now I work with a few Preston fans, and apparently Simpson took that same team from top of the league at xmas out of the playoffs by the end of the season with poor management skills. He also failed to get a league one level Shrewsbury out of league two and was sacked by failing at Stockport County. Now I will get behind whoever we appoint, and his recent England work has been excellent but I think people need to realise that his cv isn’t great and his successes at club level are tainted- especially at PNE where he is most known for.
