six home games over the season that may become to be our downfall pick any 3 from these home games that another 1 goal from us or kept just 1 goal out and it would have made us safe right now.. H Blackpool Draw 2 points lost H Crewe lost 1 point lost H Fleetwood lost 1 point lost H Port Vale lost 1 Point lost H Chesterfield lost 1 point lost H Colchester draw 2 points lost you may well notice that most of those are bottom table strugglers. Perhaps Port Vale are the strongest there. Our home form has let us down. Its been over the season not just today that's let us down. We started with a lot of gelling to be done.. injuries have not been kind either. Next week will all know if we have made the play-offs... but all things considered I think this has been a very decent season for us no matter what happens next week.
Missed off S****horpe at home we should have won that game really. The importance of that points come back to haunt us.
aye well spotted.. missed that one but the point remains that its our home form that's been the worst it would seem. Any points away are always bonus points IMHO.... but most managers, coaches, pundits ... whatever will always say that you need to strongest at home.... sadly we have let slip some games at home and seemingly due to daft decisions by coaching and players alike... but still we finish no matter what at the right end of the table... unlike the Pikey's ( will not shed a tear for them) and poor old York City ( bit of a soft spot for them).
I don't but into. What about the points we picked up that we shouldn't have? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I did not put that game in for one reason TBH They were a team rising in form and as such I was always gonna be happy by just not losing (the old six pointer thing) but te other games mentioned were against teams who are bottom of the pile mostly.
Re: six home games over the season that may become to be our downfall We beat Blackpool at home 4-2? Drew 1-1 away
thats the beauty of the game Marc.. innit but as I am trying to say in my bottom line is the fact that we have indeed had a very very good season . We began with a squad that was a bit disjointed and needed to get together and gel under a very young manager and back room squad... we had a very good share of injuries... at the Christmas period we were all really wondering if we would climb the table from the bottom 4... we climbed .. and then we parted company a very good and upcoming young manager who left us in the Final of the Football League Trophy... which gave us a fantastic day out at the National stadium and a won us a very good looking trophy and a decent amount of cash too... plus the kudos of the media. So now we go to the wire and could be in the play- offs but we also (if you look at the maths) end up in 8th place. But all in all I for one think this is one of our better seasons... its better sweating it out over a Play-off place then sweating it over a relegation place.
Re: six home games over the season that may become to be our downfall Make your mind up, you have been accusing other posters of being negative.
