You will not find a better use of "VAR" than in Rugby Union. The other option is leaving the ref solely in charge and there is no way he can competently decide on major borderline matters without camera help. I honestly can't see where your OP is going. What is your solution that does not involve proper camera scrutiny of what goes on? It's there for all to see and the refs explain everything that goes on with regard to their decisions. It's excellent.
Are you serious. Thought the Ref and VAR were pretty decent yesterday arguably could have given the French guy a straight red first time but didn’t bottle the second probably gave one pen to Ireland that was the wrong way round and France a try that could have gone either way but watching as a neutral I didn’t see much wrong
Personally, I think it's time to go back to letting the people on the pitch take sole charge again. This applies to both footy and rugby but not cricket where it works well due to the nature of the game. Maybe there should be more referees, say one in each half and more linesmen/touch judges, 2 in each half. That way any contentious decision can be spread round more people. I know this will lead to more off-field debate amongst supporters and pundits, but really, who gives a toss? I never watch the TV punditry even for our games when we occasionally get national coverage. If a ref or group of officials get a decision wrong then so be it, it's human error.
To be fair it works pretty well in Rugby at least at international level - I never watch club rugby so I dont know if its used there or how well it works if it is The way the Premier league have implemented it though is just wrong and they do need to change it or scrap it
England are useless. Should be going for a try here. It shows a lack of confidence to go for the three.
I thought England did ok today. Seemed to be some very odd decisions against them. Scotland v France had interesting end for sure
Wales deserved the HT lead, England deserved the win... proper test match, bloody brutal at times. Scotland v France fell a bit flat, but a nerve tingling wait at the end.
