right, not sure this is exactly a problem, but its starting to annoy me now so i just thought i would ask if anyone else as had the same trouble.
im not sure it will make sense but here goes:
whenmy sky+ box is turned off the power button is red and there is no noise coming from it.
when the box is turned on, the power button is green and you can here the box working away inside, which i presume is correct because it as always done that.
but now, when the power is off (button is red) it as started to make the noise it makes when it is switched on. (hopefully that bit makes sense)
so what i want to know is why the hell it keeps making this bloody noise because its driving me crazy. If anyone can explain why it makes these noises or as had similar problems please enlighten me.
cheers in advance.

Nowt to worry about, it's just your box receiving updates. Only annoying thing for me is that it normally does it seconds before I fall asleep, leaving me wide awake thinking "sure I turned the telly off!"
i see now, and thats exactly what its doing to me. keep me awake or waking me up in the middle of the damn night.
cheers for that, at least now i know its not knackered.(Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y)

i resorted to leaving it on all night so that the noise doesnt just start up and scare the **** out of me
Have you got the Sky Anytime update? When you go on the TV Guide menu you'll see the option for the red button to access it - if so then I suspect this is causing it, it's receiving the programmes for Sky Anytime. If you go into the Services menu you can disable Sky Anytime so you won't then get these downloads. The downside is you won't be able to watch some episode of Scooby Doo that they've sent you or a film that you might otherwise not get chance to record on the 14 times it's on during the week on Sky Premiere!
RE: Have you got the Sky Anytime update? im not too sure if i have the update, but i will check later on. cheers(Y) (Y) (Y)
but tell me this: how am i going to live my life knowing i cant watch scooby doo?

Surprised at the noise though Never noticed much noise from mine, might be the model or might be cause it's in the living room I wouldn't notice in the same way as if it was in the bedroom when I was trying to get to sleep.
