I received an offer via email on Tuesday for SkySports free for two months on a trial basis. I duly accepted and they informed me that it would be enabled within 48 hours. Saturday morning and I'd still no SkySports coverage, so I called them up.

They first claimed that no offer seemed to exist, only for them to then say that it was only an online offer, to which I replied that it WAS online, as I'd originally informed them that it was in EMAIL format. They then came back and asked if I had any other offers currently active - I do - SkyMovies for two months, which expires at the end of January and of which I've already cancelled. They then told me that because this offer was still active, I couldn't take up another offer until it was deactivated at the end of the month.

Is that just a load of ********? Anyone had any similar run-ins?

    Cheers in advance.

some times they do state that an offer can not be used with any other offer, have a look to see if that is stated in the terms of agreement in the email.

Don't you still have the email? Who's your email with? (sky.com, bt.com etc..)

Check your email via Webmail, it's still likely to be there, even if deleted.

Let's hope the email account isn't with Sky, they will probably have deleted all record of it, and tapped Poet's phone while they were at it.

Ah I know all about this as I got it. Long story but it will
Be a genuine offer but the call centres always claim not aware of it. You need to cancel free trial before end of first month of your two free or you'll start paying. I questioned in end if worth it.

Here are some extracts from my conversation with Sky via priate email. PLease note my email offer for was Sky World.

'Thanks for getting back to us, as previously advised the offer will run on your account for 2 months despite it only stating one month due to the 31 day cancellation notice requirement. It is correct that you can call up on 15th June to cancel the free trial to avoid charges at the end of the offer period, to do this however you will need to call in as the option to downgrade and cancel is not available online.

I'm afraid we cannot contact you regarding this as we the forum team cannot access your account therefore we cannot discuss account specific details however the information provided has been confirmed by our marketing team who are responsible for the offers and how they are applied.

    Robert.'

    Previous email from then said:

    'Hi funnyfella,

I have asked our Marketing team for clarification on your query relating to the e-mail offer you have received for Sky World free for 1 month. It has been clarified that while the offer is advertised as running for 30 days, it will indeed be applied to cover 2 months due to this issue and that you would need to contact our Customer Help team 31 days before the end of the 2 month period to request cancellation so that this applies at the end of the offer period and you are not charged.

I appreciate that this has been confusing and we have highlighted this as feedback to the team regarding offers. To apply for this e-mail offer you will need to follow the steps online as instructed by the e-mail, our Customer Help team cannot apply this offer for you as it will be an exclusive online offer.

    Robert.'
