Is anyone linked up the the sky sports cricket live link? Is it always this unbiased? I'm actually enjoying watching cricket being written.... bizarre! OVER 18: Gillespie: 1-1-1-4-0-1 419-6 - Gillespie on at the Stretford End. He is in the middle of Struggle City at the moment and looks to be on a fast train to Dropsville. Figures of 60-6-260-2 in this series and when he drops short, Flintoff pulls with some control to the mid-wicket boundary. OVER 17: Warne: 0-2-1-1-2-4 411-6 - Too short from Warne and Gillespie is called into the action regularly on the fence at deep cover. Flintoff sweeps with some venom to the square leg fence and the bowler is apoplectic. OVER 16: Lee: 2-0-4-1-2-4 401-6 - Brett Lee is worried by the footholes since the rain delay and a juicy full toss is driven down the ground by Flintoff. Lee comes around the wicket but is driven through square cover by Jones. The 400 is up, the 50 partnership is up, England are on the up. OVER 15: Warne: 0-0-4-1-0-1 388-6 - Massive appeal from Warne but Jones has got a big stride down the pitch and is given not out by Billy Bowden, too many inponderables. Not for the first time this series Warne is convinced he had his man but if that view was shared by every umpire around the world he would have around 1037 Test wickets by now. His misery is compounded as the Kent keeper hits him over the top for his fourth boundary. OVER 14: Lee: 0-0-1-4-+-1-0 382-6 - Brett Lee looks like he may have had a pint during that brief rain delay. A gentle full toss is bunted down the ground by Jones and then he bowls a bouncer that is so short it almost breaks his toe and is called a wide.
Use your powers my young apprentice and mashem up good, punch em in the belly til thier arses bleed, go on son AVIT !!!!
And ... ... a drive to the boundary must be a 'diamond cutter'. 'Vaughan has driven Lee through the covers - and what a beautiful diamond cutter it was.'
Hi Jedi, How's things? Not impressed that I'm your young apprentice again. I thought I'd become a Jedi Master 2 years ago? Is it because I beat them kids up with my smartie tube light sabre?
The cricinfo site has some good commentary, bit less mad - but it does have stats coming out of its ears. http://uk.cricinfo.com/db/NEW/LIVE/frames/AUS_ENG_T3_11-15AUG2005.html
Yeah but are they put across as well as this: 31-0 - Local hero Flintoff is on at the Stretford End. Statistics are like bikinis, very revealing, they can show a lot, but still hide the most interesting bits. However I will still tell you that since 1995, the average second innings score in Tests at Old Trafford is 323.
Not long back from holiday And I'm very disappointed to report that none of the girls were wearing statistics.
RE: Not long back from holiday Quite possibly the laziest report I've ever seen. Poor presentation and no inclusion of pie charts or anything. Try harder next time Jay, I don't sit about at work reading the BBS all day to waste time.
I hear ... ... Bell has just pulled something off. Now that is in writing - it looks even less funny than it sounded. 'Jay's spacky & he's lazy' ... as that bloke out of talking heads once sang.
RE: I hear ... nothing funny about bell pulling. I do it in my local church every sunday. much to the vicars annoyance.
