Basically, since 10pm last night, my signal has gone all over to the point of not being able to watch.

Cutting the last 2 1/2 hours into a few words this is what happened.

Sky took me through the usual crap (turn off, turn on blah blah blah) and eventualy claimed, yes Mr Webster, you do have a fault, you now have 3 options...

    1) Pay £65 for an engineer to repair
    2) consult a local dealer for them to sort off your own back
    3) pay £99 for Sky Plus and £30 installation (as this would fix your fault anyway)

I said, I wll pay nowt, as I had paid for a replacement LNB at my old property (I didn't, actually got it fixed free by threatening to cancel contract), and when I moved, you told me to take my box and plug it into the sky dish at my new proprty, and I wasn't paying for a repair for a dish that probably been at my new house for the last 4 years.

This actually got me nowhere, so I asked to be put through to the cancellations dept (at a risk here)...

After explaining the same, got offered it all sorting for the price of "homemoving" which I claimed not to be offered (true) whereby they would have come out and moved the dish from the old house to the new one.

So this is what I get

Sky Plus, Free fitting, Fixed Dish (as they would have to replace the LNB anyway), all in for £49 quid

    So my original question

Did I manage to blag a good deal???

Well you got a better deal than before.

They ended up giving you the new customer deal, so no skin off their nose really.

They're currentley offering an upgrade to Sky+ for £49 if you join sky talk, broadband & multiroom so looks decent deal to me.

Sky plus is worth every penny, you'll never no how you managed without!

Been wanting plus for ages, just wouldn't fork out over 100 quid for it knowing they would more or less give them away to new customers etc..

Happy with what I was offered, so can't wait

bloke at work had been with virgin for over a year. asked them why its only the new customers that always get the special deals and was thinking bout moving to sky. they gave him top package for all for more than half the price, and thats as long as he stays with them
