since when did games get delayed because of teams turning up late?

Reading were at the ground ages before kick off last week but we all had to sit around waiting for them to have a nice practice before kick off. **** me

If the team get stuck in traffic its possible the travelling fans are too.

Doesn`t hurt 15 mins extra to wait surely.

but most of the times it isn't stuck in traffic

its a case of getting lost, going to the wrong ground, breaking down etc. and quite a few fans are on tight schedules, eg they have to go straight to work after games or have got to drive a long way home, those 15 minutes make a difference.

It seems to me that if a team is late it should be tough luck, reading could have played at 3pm at oakwell, they were there in their kit, on the pitch but instead of playing and us having an advantage from THEIR mistake, we all had to wait around longer, fecking the fans and giving reading an advantage as barnsley had been forced to wait around longer disrupting their usual pre match build up. all because they wanted a practice. **** me

yeah but wouldn't that be different?

In that situation they'd expect all the away supporters to be late as well as presumably they'd get stuck in the same jams. In the case of reading last week the fans were there but the team had simply not left adequate time wich is surely their own fault?

Referee agreed that the game would be delayed if Derby weren't at the ground by 7pm.

So when they arrived at 19:03 Mr D'Urso agreed.

But they got to the ground later so game delayed to give them chance to warm up

    is that true dyson?

If it is then thats plain stupid. Apparently the reason they're late is because the blackwell tunnel was closed off this afternoon. isn't it a night match?

Said so on Sky. Jewell was talking with D'Urso regularly and they agreed to delay the game if they weren't at the ground by 7pm. SKY said they arrived just after 7.

'Driver, take it steady will you?'

Exactly. Final decision is with the referee.

They were on the pitch in their kit 20 minutes prior to kick off weren't they?

That's 20 minutes prior to the normal 3pm kick off, so no need at all to delay the game for 15 extra minutes. Also didn't they break down this side of meadowhall? In which case. being so close to the ground and obviously so close to kick off, could they not have done basic warm up where they were if they really needed to?

It was a ridiculous decision that handed the advantage to reading and fecked things for the fans

no why would he need to abandon the game when both teams were stood on the pitch at 3pm in their kit

Reading were there, in their kit, on the pitch BEFORE 3pm having warmed up and could very easily have kicked off

    I just answered the question

since when did games get delayed because of teams turning up late?

If the fans are there and the team isn't you can imagine the uproar if the game gets forfeited for the sake of 15 minutes. The team arriving late should get fined, but they'll always delay kick off I would have thought
