so we know there are many streaming sites to access matches. We also know that there are cameras at every ground , football league show tells us this. So how come Sky could not do a 'Red Button' thing and let us see our teams live on tv. They would get revenue and maybe the clubs could get a little too. It could work like Sky box office pay as you go maybe. I hear you saying now that it could affect attendances. I personally would pay perhaps £5 over the match day ticket for this service, My situation now means I simply cannot get to our games due my work profile. There are a good many others the same. Player is ok but not as good as being able to see it too. I reckon one day it will happen.
Simple reason is sky don't have the rights for it which would cost a fortune, plus i doubt that their red button service has the capacity to show 46 (ish) matches at the same time. Then there's the law which states no matches can be shown live at 3pm on a Saturday and that law is in place to stop people paying a smaller amount in TV subscription and watching on TV rather than going to games (which is what you're suggesting).
Re: did either of you two actually read AND digest what I wrote Yes, I saw you ask why games are no on the red button on sky. I told you the reason that they're not. What did I miss?
Re: ok ' Mr LITERAL' I give up Supertyke gave the reason. 1. Sky don't have the rights to all the games and would have to pay more for them. 2. There is a law that states live football can't be shown on TV at 3pm on a Saturday. Not quite sure in what way he didn't read what you posted. also, whilst there are cameras at every ground, there's only 1 or maybe 2, not the full broadcast team. also much of the footage is fed back after the game rather than paying for live satellite to feed back all the footage at the time.
ok then lets try again 1. surely some tv company could do it 2. laws can be repealed the rest reference pricing and attendances is covered in the original post. There is that easy enough.
Re: ok then lets try again Again it isn't allowed for that reason. But because Dragon tyke wants it we can pretend that Barnsley have 27 cameras at every game, that the images are fed live to sky's headquarters every game, that sky have unlimited capacity on their red button service, that the laws have been changed to allow it and that people won't stop at home and pay £5 to watch a game instead of going to the game and paying £23. If we pretend that all these things happen then no I can't see any reason at all why sky can't show every single game in the country on their red button service. Is that a better answer? In other words, is that the exact answer that you wanted people to make up?
Re: ok then lets try again It protects clubs as a viable business not allowing folk to just put on the telly at 3pm, and rightly so. Only the one camera at most grounds
I would imagine its only a matter of time before Player gets a live stream upgrade. I believe it's been talked about for a good few years. It would have to cost a decent amount to watch though for the clubs to go for it.
try telling Supertyke this he will soon shoot you down, I heard he is changing his name from 'supertyke' to 'The Oracle'
You asked why sky don't do it... You received the correct answer, and are refusing to listen to that...
I did and that's great for the away games I can't get to. And while it is relevant to the thread, it's not relevant to the discussion that you and I are having, as it doesn't make me wrong and you right. My point was that you refused to listen to the correct answer because it wasn't what you wanted to hear.
