I thought the commentators total pandering and flattering of how great the Leeds fans have been 'over the years' was nothing short of diabolical on the JP clash tonight with Darlo. The commentator - can’t remember his name - made one of the biggest contradictions I have heard when after endless 'bigging up’ of how great the Leeds fans were, passionate etc etc he said it was 'hard to believe that only a coupe of months ago in a friendly at Darlington the fans had been staging a protest'....................wait a minute. Let’s get one thing straight. If anything, all that shows is that Leeds fans are basically as fickle as the rest - a few good results and suddenly Denise Wise becomes 'Wisey', attendances increase (still a quarter of the ground empty I hasten to add) and even Ken Bates suddenly is off the criticism radar. Even worse SKY TV mentioned nothing about the recent pelting of the Ref at Gillingham by these 'great fans’, last seasons disgraceful pitch invasion v Ipswich - plus all the other notorious off the field antics over the last few decades ( rioting in Bournemouth, pulling down fences at Birmingham etc etc).

It’s a well worn subject I know but whilst ever the Media fails to give a balanced and impartial view of that shower of ***** from Elland Road it will continue to make me - and I suspect many others- bloody furious.

I agree wholeheartedly lad... unfortunately we have a "big club syndrome" here, especially now that they're in the old third division. The media always pander to these so-called clubs. What's so amusing is that the very fans they have been praising are the same shower of **** that, down the years, have ripped down television gantry's, pelted a disabled snclosure with missiles and attacked referees/ players ona number of occasions. B*ll*cks to the *******! (press and Leeds fans alike)

I guess from the Media's point of view potentially they get more viewers if the so called bigger teams are all in the Prem or at least the Championship = so indirectly the sooner Leeds and the like come back up the leagues, the more viewers they get - and obviously more dosh in their pocket.. However, did you also see Nigel Martyn at half time explaining how great the fans were - brainwashed dozy cornishman me thinks - wonder if he had have said that if he had been Ipswich's keeper on that last day of last season in those last few minutes when all hell broke lose??
