Why? Has it ever done anyone any good? Perhaps it makes the slagger feel better about him or herself?
Unfortunately old gimmer, football is a game of opinions, and so is a bulletin board forum. My experience is that the vast amount of criticism here is constructive. I also believe the vast majority of Reds are incredibly positive about where we are and where we're going
Damn the written words inability to convey sarcasm I prefer it when its less subtle, like your second post. It needs to be obvious for me to get it!
By the same token, what harm does it do? If people don't rate Alnwick or McNulty why shouldn't they be able to say so?
How much of that is down to Hemsworth Tyke's ambassadorial skills? I'm learning to laugh it off, but his nonsense does create a negative backlash.
But what kind of laugh Mr C?....mines kind of a Vincent price ala thriller. Sometimes I might throw a jolly green giant ho ho ho in just to confuse people.
I wasn't there last night so can't really comment but could guarantee whatever happened that Alnwick would be slated by some. Just don't like it when we're quick as a group of fans to write someone off (see Dagnall, Wiseman. Etuhu etc). Reckon we're likely to be more successful as a club if we cut players a bit of slack. We might need Alnwick at different points next season. He'll probably play better if he thinks the fans are behind him.
agree ark. i reckon there's probably still some residual 'pro steele' feeling knocking about. it'll wear off eventually
I agree wi that,,,and if people think that getting on these 2s backs, will do nothing but infuriate the rest of the players and staff....then some people have not actually understood a word flicker as said, in the last 6 months about unity..
Alnwick isn't as good as Steele. That's just my opinion. But it doesn't give me a reason to ridicule Ben. I've only ever given him grief on here for what he did at Spotland last Summer. I've never criticised McNulty, because I see something completely different to most others it appears. Maybe I'm wrong? But there you go. I quite often am. I never criticised Etuhu because I never saw enough of him to judge. But he looked decent under Flicker, although I still prefer Dawson/Perkins and Mellis. Regards Dawson/Perkins and Golbourne (who folk say got stick early doors) I have always said I like them. From day dot. And still do. Dagnall looked out of his depth when he first arrived, and Keith was playing him behind Andy Gray. I'd seen us go from Butterfield to Dagnall and made a rash judgment call. I said he wasn't good enough IMO to cut it at this level. That was before last season got under way. I changed my mind (we are entitled to do so) after the Rochdale game and have loved his performances ever since. And Scott Wiseman. Yes, the one player I will definitely admit that I criticised heavily on HERE. Not at the game, and certainly not via twitter directly to him. He was definitely a player up until February 2012. But then became absolute gash in the main right through until February 2013. So my criticism was based on that. He then regained his form and I now see him as a key component in this current BFC side, in a number of roles. So in other words, I get things right, I get things wrong. But I will definitely be tempering my criticism this season, as I feel like this group deserve a lot of leeway considering the way they battled to safety last season. I will though, no doubt about it, still say "such and such was poor" if indeed he was. That's just normal behaviour. *The 'McNumpty' thing is embarrassing by the way. He's a reds player. Get a grip (to those who keep using it). You set of McNumpties.
