I've been saying since pre-season, if they don't go up this time or next, they done for, because they were obviously tempting the likes of Chopra and McPhail with big money.

At least during the last few years of shenanigans at Oakwell, the one saving grace is that someone or some people involved with the club (presumably Shepherd and Cryne) saw Risdale off very quickly before he could do any damage, I suspect he wanted to throw good money after bad straight away?

Ironic he came in the first place really, after all, it was the refusal of an overdraft facitlity to the reds (on the back of the problems of Leeds and other clubs) that dropped us in it to start with.

Go on Preston and City, sock it to them!

    That suggests

    Barnsley's population is 71% that of Cardiff's.

In which case the corresponding crowd would have been 9593.

Considering Cardiff have only one other feasible outlet for it's catchment area (Swansea), and Barnsley has at least a dozen within 40 miles, we aren't doing that bad I reckon.

Oh... ...and their plight if they fail will deserve more than a slight chortle!

But then again football isn't the national sport in Wales.

Slightly different as we hadn't banked on getting promotion that year. We were not expecting it and we certainly didn't speculate with it in mind.
