His dads probably a pig...Whats really impressed me with younsters at Oakwell

Is the amount of different clubs on offer at Oakwell for them. Hundreds of kids are getting down to the academy and joining in with the teams or having practise sessions. Apparantly they have to split the whole academy up into different clubs because of the overwhelming interest, they even have a mini kickers club for 3 and 4 year olds where they practise twice a week for half hour sessions. These kids are our future and it can only be a good thing.

This mini kickers club for 3/4 year olds...Does anyone know how its structured? Its just that my 3 year old lad is just starting to enjoy having a kick around and im wondering if he's like to go. Also, how much is it per session?

    Cheers

RE: These kids are our future????

I'm talking about school kids, during our demise i think the academy suffered and not much as come out of it. I think in the next five years we will have some good prospects coming through now its back on its feet. Not only will it help us produce footballers it will create interest in Barnsley FC with school kids coming to train at the academy, its getting local kids involved and interested in the clubs handing tickets out for them and their families and trying to attract new supporters to the club. When l was at school there was **** all to do with Barnsley FC, no trips or anything, academys are good things hence the majority of clubs having them.

I wonder how many penalties and free kicks the ref gives during those 30 minutes, it'll be worse then watching Heskey during his Leicester days.
