Just a short note re a couple of queries over last two games. The P A System The club are aware of a problem with PA system particularly in CK Beckett stand. In view of another game tomorrow and the work needed at high levels this cannot be resolved before the Forest Game. TV's on Concourses not working The TV's are controlled from a point in the West Stand. Due to the ongoing remedial work in the West Stand this will be resolved as soon as possible. My regular meeting with the CEO are to commence shortly as well as the Fan Engagement Meetings. Security at the ground is quite poor to be perfectly honest. We're a soft target for anyone that's that way inclined, which is hardly ideal.
There have been times when I have got into the Ponty End with an overnight bag AND a laptop. I just sail through. Ayup, pal: theer's me season ticket. And off I go. Not even lip-service paid to a bag-check.
The PA system has been 'not fit for purpose' for years, especially in the south stand, for obvious reasons this is now unacceptable, I can not believe the club has had a whole summer to upgrade the PA system but as per usual it's not been seen as a priority, this 'the club is running on a tight budget' is wearing a little thin with 20 plus million in the bank, as for extra security, that was none existent again on Saturday, I feel the press statement the club realised was just paying lip service.
Aye whereas in Belgium there's a complete ban on taking any sized bag in to a stadium and most other European countries it has to be smaller than an A4 piece of paper.
Is the club not embarrassed how it is viewed by a lot of its own supporters as to how a lack of upgrading of the stadium is becoming a regular concern? Plus will the West stand only be half used again this season?
Same problems every season that are little problems that should be sorted, not even hard to sort most of them! We are a championship club who seem to want to be a league one club! We even have plenty money now even after PC has rightly kept some back for himself!
The PA system has needed an upgrade for years now. All the good work that goes into the pre match build up by the media team is all in vain as the PA system totally spoils it.
When Ridsdale came in he sorted the PA in the Ponty sadly it lasted 2 games, its been on and off ever since that time. Tother season our seats in the Ponty were actually cleaned prior to the season starting jolly good I thought at last getting the simple things reight at last, but no its been back to normal ever since. £300 for an accy seat, how much does a clean un cost?
Claim that six coaches had arrived in Chepstow prior to Bristol game, without prior approval. That they caused a nuisance. After checking the coaches were all pre arranged with local pubs and police aware. It appears claims of problems/ nuisance are unfounded
