................the entry gate at the ground got smashed that is.

I remeber this was an F A Cup game which BFC lost 2-0. Absolutely lashed it down but around 200 BFC fans decided prior to the game to do a 'Sweeney' on the entry gate. smashed it down and got in free. Happy memories!

The year after we must have had about 4,500 over there. Won 2-1 with a late goal - cue pitch invasion and mass hysteria. I loved the FA Cup when i was a nipper!
It was a massive crush getting out at the end too, and we drew Rotherham away in the second round - i think we sold 9,000 tickets in just a couple of days (?)

Didn't Ian Banks score a late penalty, and didn't the little pie shop run out of pies ???? really muddy going to the away end ???? Double Decker busses from the railway station, it's flooding back now :)

That's right. Very muddy indeed it was outside the ground - we had to walk along a dirt track-cum-lane type thingy!. The pitch was the same too.
