Did you see Ashley Cole's face when he got subbed off. That bloke is so self-satisfied it is untrue. From the wry smile on his face you would have thought that he had just played out of his skin. So smug and complacent.

Just once I'd like to see England really play at tempo and run down every loose ball. From that performance you'd never know we hadn't qualified - you'd think the plane tickets were booked. (N)

Bunch of smug, overpaid prima donnas who don't give a **** about nayone bar themselves. Whenever they balls up a game they refuse to talk to the press etc. England aren't over there next week cos they haven't got an arsehole! Concede one goal.... then the other was sure to follow within minutes as our 'professionals' were normally disorientated. :((

On the plus side; at least we'll be spared some so-called documentary about English hooligans in which it shows ******* throwing beer on local women and embarassing themselves, such as the one with regards the World Cup in Germany. (furious) (Y)

    Stop whining

Some people just love to moan dont they. bad day at work?

We played well and played some nice football. Ashley Cole didnt have any sort of 'smug' look on his face at all. They did the job and i was pleasantly surprised how much effort was put in by all.

As for the hooligans thing... come off it. The only fighting of any note at the last world cup was between Germans and Polish. If of course you are just referring to the press handling and near fabrication of that program then I apologise. But yes, i know, we cant stop all the *******, but neither can any other country and we do a much better job of it.

    RE: Stop whining

I was indeed having a dig at the press handling of the event. As for the whining...... mmmmm........ Nope! More of a gripe! I've seen England on many a foreign soil and i'm cheesed off we aren't in next wees Euros! :) With regards to the bad day at work i must say i had a bloody great day as it goes. Covered my money by 1pm and i'm now on to complete the contract 2 days ahead of schedule which means i can take a couple of days off before the next job (Y)

I can't comment on this evening's match as i was fleeting about with the telly between England v USA and that Britain's Got Talent shenanigans....... There's no wonder i drink brandy copiously :D

We'll have to disagree. I see the same old faces for England presuming on their place in the team - they didn't get to a major international tournament which they certainly should've, but it doesn't show. What I'm driving at is, after they let us down so badly, they should be really looking to take teams like the USA to the cleaners. Ashley Cole thinks he's the dogs danglies - and when he's competing against Wayne Bridge for his place, he probably has every right to feel secure. I thought he looked extremely smug going off - but that's subjective, isn't it?

Another lame Lampard England performance. Drop him for starters, play Gerrard inside.

Praise to Owen Hargreaves though, he is a superb worker who made some excellent tackles and never wasted a pass all night. Gerrard was good too. The rest strolled around and did just enough to beat a mediocre opponent. They can all do better, and they should all get a bollocking if we are going to raise our standards when it comes to the international game.

You can be satisfied with 2-0 against USA at Wembley if you like. I'd rather we did much better - and in all fairness, we're capable of doing much better.

i think tonight was a night where we could easily have had 4 or 5 if on the excellent chances we had were converted. err does that make sense? well i hope so cos i cant be arsed to change it. i cant really say that i disagree most of the stuff you say, but my immediate thoughts after the game were 'good performance'.

it did make me very annoyed watching that we arent in the Euros, because we have some cracking players. hopefully capello can get them playing.

    What's Rooney's problem though...

... even in a non competitive game against a team of cardboard cutouts he manages to get himself booked for needless agressive tackling; indeed, in my opinion he was lucky not to get sent off as he should have been booked earlier for a tackle similar to the one he did get booked for.

Rooney should have been sent off. There were a couple of shocking tackles. But he should have been sent off when he was booked. He just waved away the ref as though he was nothing, and shouted f*ck off to his face. He should fined and banned. Its about time we clamped down on players thinking they can do what they want.

England are ok when nowt to play for, in a full competitive game.....

against real opposition they are found wanting, did'nt watch them last night, and to be honest, until they realise how important it is to us and show they genuinely care, I will not watch them.
