Anyone watching it? Ronnie playing **** today. 10 all right now, Selby just missed a great chance to take the lead.
He's having a mare. And Selby is painful to watch. Not as bad as enduring an Ebdon match, but still ******* hard to 'enjoy' watching.
Makes it interesting I suppose. I love Ronnie, but I'm glad he's in a match, rather than strolling it. Still think he'll win it.
You'd have to say Selby looks the favourite now. It must be said he has had some unbelievable fortune and he seems to have caught Ronnie on a very bad day.
You'd think so reading this thread. All about Selby being lucky, fortunate, Ronnie off his game etc. Not one post giving credit to the eventual winner.
So you think Ronnie played well? He didn't miss shot after shot he would normally make? Selby played well, particularly his safety work, but Ronnie wasn't at his best. Fact.
I,m giving credit to selby he outplayed ronnie nowt to do with off his game he was beaten by a guy with better tactics.
That's snooker though. Someone plays better than the other, misses less shots and wins the match. Last year Ronnie beat Hawkins. The BBS was about how good Ronnie played with no mention of Hawkins not playing well as he can.
That's because Ronnie is that good when he's on his game, it is all about how he performs. We'll agree to disagree though.
The final frame was amazing. That shot Selby played, when he went round the table to split the two reds and the pink - probably the best shot I've ever seen. Made even more spectacular by the white jumping four foot off the table before the top spin took hold. And he did that when he was on a break that could see him win his first world title. The pressure must have been incredible, but he didn't show a bit of it. I love watching Ronnie O'Sullivan play. I only ever watch snooker when he's playing. But I'm not going to take anything away from Mark Sleby, he played superb and thoroughly deserved the title. Also pleased to see Ronnie in good spirits and so gracious in defeat.
Its alreight saying Ronnie weren`t on his game cos al bet Selby has played loads better than that in the potting/positional stakes, there was one frame when neither one of em could pot a ball sitting over the pocket. But fair do`s to Selby his safety play was fantastic and he ground Ronnie down. Whilst I hear the lad gets slated for being boring with the safety game for me it was the highlight of the match and was the way to go to upset Ronnie getting in any sort of rhythm.
But it's unfair on his opponents if people think that he can only ever be beaten if he's off his game. So Leicester have won the championship title and the Crucible. Only need Molly Smitten Downes to pull off the Eurovision miracle on saturday for the trifecta.
