beginning to feel foolish regarding the extra two months supplies I got in on the back of the weather forecast and the Daily Mirror / Express headlines
It's not settling at all. I've stayed at my parents to avoid trouble getting to work. All it's achieved thus far is kept me away from Laura and George unnecessarily. At least I haven't used holidays for nowt like last years doom cast. Always overhyped when it comes to snow. I don't think people realise the variables when it comes to it and how rare it actually is. It's like Goldilocks and the three bears it has to be just right.
We've driven to Knaresborough and back via Wetherby Rd Sainsburys and it's just light snow fluttering down and melting immediately. Heavy snow forecast for tomorrow - hmm, we'll see
I do believe the worst is still to come, but there seems to have been a general overkill. I got to work much quicker than usual this morning due to the roads being quieter. I'm hoping for the same on the way home. I'm hopeful for the game being on Saturday at this rate though. Though if we do have to postpone, I hope we can do it as soon as possible for the sake of the Plymouth fans.
It’s settling well on properties and pavements around Hoyland, the gritters have done well so far though which means the roads are still relatively clear. The snow is supposed to ramp up this afternoon though so that could all change.
It was just cold and damp in Lincoln this morning, and judging by the car it hadn't even dipped below zero overnight. However I did see a couple of people driving into the city who looked like they'd come directly from Siberia, so somewhere not too far away got plenty of snow overnight.
I'm in Normanton and it's snowing quite heavily but not settling at all. Always think the media hype up the snow forecasts these days.
I don't think the travelling fans, from any direction, will even be considered. Ours weren't for the Exeter game, were they. I predict a postponement 1100 Saturday morning which will be early enough to stop ME travelling
I think the official line will be, everything has been done in order to get the game on. They should know by this time tomorrow if the games going to be on.
Currently in Hoyland it snowed yesterday briefly but then cleared up. Been snowing all day since I woke up at 7 for work today and settling all around with a good few inches but our road is clear so gritters must have done well for now. The dangers will come I guess when it freezes over tonight and then snows again on top of that tomorrow, if the forecast is going to be accurate.
Snowing heavily in Headingley. Main roads gritted well, so not sticking on roads, but starting to elsewhere. I really doubt the match will be on. I'm getting worried about the 6 events my DJs need to get to on Saturday night. A few are over the Pennies...
Derby 15" allegedly. East Midlands Airport closed, 45 mins away in Melton Mowbray, we've had a light sprinkling, now raining, noticeably warmer and its all vanishing. Mrs is working about 5 miles away and country lanes are almost impassable. Weird how it can be so different so close. I'm having another snow day, retirement life is good
Snowed all day here but nothing settling at all. School made decision to close at 6:45 this morning due to forecast and all surrounding schools doing the same. It could have gone either way and I suspect many would have kept their kids off but it’s turned out to not be as bad as predicted. It’s the first time I’ve ever known us to close too.
Looking at AccuWeather's radar, it looks more like sleet and heavy rain moving this way as opposed to tons of snow. Been very light all day in Wath and the roads are looking fairly clear. Sheffield was the same this morning on my way to work, along the parkway and up to the M1.
