The yellow card would have been sufficient punishment for Chris Morgan. "When judging whether to take disciplinary action in this case, The FA has had to consider the challenge itself and not the outcome of it. "The FA has been given express direction from FIFA that we cannot upgrade yellow cards to red. On this basis, we can only bring additional charges in the most exceptional cases and only if it can be proved beyond doubt that the actions of a player were a deliberate attempt to injure an opponent. "Having reviewed all available evidence in this case, including submissions made by Barnsley, there is no basis on which an additional charge could brought."
It really is a **** organisation.
They studied the "challenge" did they? What a bunch of *******.

Someone said to me that it should just be about the challenge and not the extent of the injury - well that's crap. If I was to hit someone in town I'd be charged with assault, if when he falls he cracks his head on the pavement and dies I'd then be charged with manslaughter!
Just wonder if an ensuing riot at Bramall Lane ... would be "exceptional" enough ? ... because the FA have had 2 weeks to sort this out & I don't think anyone, even Sheff Utd would have complained about an upgrade to Red / lengthy match ban... any bad feeling has been multiplied ten fold by the FA's incompetence
how can they possibly claim that it wasn't "a deliberate attempt to injure an opponent"??? How could they fail to spot what everyone else, not just Barnsley fans, have seen. Maybe Morgan's crafty look to see where to aim his elbow at was just too sly for the stupid old blind Barstewards to see. Or maybe while they were debating that, it meant they failed to spot the increase in speed of said elbow towards skull. Fuming.
I'm reminded of what Edmund Burke said many years ago ‘All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing’ I think it sums this situation up perfectly.
