We're still in a play-off spot, 4 points clear of our nearest rivals with a game in hand on the two teams both above and below us. Am I really in a minority in thinking that's a pretty good position to be in, particularly considering it's our manager's first season in charge? It's definitely seemed that way over the last few days.
I've avoided posting about it... Because I'm sick of the negative crap being spouted on here. Anyone who isn't pleased with the position we're in is mad!
RE: I've avoided posting about it... Pleased to be in a playoff position, but could and should have been better. Perhaps we shouldn't actually aim to improve though and just be happy with grinding out draws at home.
Your in a minority Jay.. that includes me, its a better position to be in than we were in last year so thats got to be viewed as progress, if only we'd got more points from the last 2 games we would really be looking good...if...if ...if, still a win on saturday and then its 2 crucial home games followed by Brentford away, we will know a lot more after those games, here's hoping
No I don't think you are mate...... Negativity will always surface after a couple of dodgy results. Once we get another win or two it'll be different story. The beauty of being a tarn fan I'm afraid.
Saturday will be tough as well but I can definately see us getting a result.

Donny are bloody 9th! They could have been deep in **** had we beaten them last weekend. Maybe Penney is right that they can still make playoffs
Everyone can see that not all the performances are up to scratch But this is very much a results business and although we'd all like to see stylish victories every week, results are what's important. And it's not like we haven't seen some cracking games. If we make the play-offs I'll be delighted. If that turns into promotion I'll be absolutely ecstatic and I won't give a chuff that we lost twice to Donny or that we got lucky against the likes of Gilingham.
a look a the other leagues surgest we a par for the course 6th place, non of the teams below look to be mounting a charge so it's up to us to cement the 6th spot and that game in hand could prove vital, with Colchester in cup action and them due at oakwell next it's not all the doom and gloom mongers make it out to be ,10 points out of the last 15 if we could take 10 out of the next 15 we would piss into the playoffs.
We have the best home record in the league So because we had a poor draw yesterday isnt really cause for concern. If you do want to worry somewhere its our away form where we are only 12th I agree with Jay on this one - true there have been some downs this season but its the best season we have had for a few years. Of course things could be better - but I tell you what they have been a lot worse for the last 5 or 6 seasons
My view top 3 will definitely finish in top 6 Then its 5 teams for 3 places Swansea, Hudds and TARN (copyright Young Nudger) will also unless a dramitic dip in form - then they don't deserve to. Can't see Chesterfield & Oldham winning most of their games so it's up to us not to **** it up - but this is TARN (c) we are talking abart.
whilst I agree that we are in a very good position..... that is far far better than I expected at the beginning of the season, and that I fully expect us to make the play offs and hopefully go up. I've got to say that we have been mediocre in too many games for my liking and that puts a terrible nagging doubt in my mind that we could well do what the Fowls are doing and be boxing above our weight next season. Having said that, I'd take bottom 6 of the championship to mid table league 1 anytime.

RE: My view having to play all 7 teams in the top 8 at least we might be able a have a say in our own destiny
Shuker said: " anyone that thinks its doom and gloom needs to take a look at themselves and GET BEHIND THE TEAM". Well said Shuker. This time last season we were 14th. This season we are 6th and in a playoff place with game/s in hand. I dont understand why people are so negative about being in a playoff position, for **** sake theirs 18 teams below us that would do anything to be where we are.
His programme notes on Tuesday "we didnt play well against Doncaster because they were in our faces the whole game" says it all for me. not suited to League 1 and assuming we sign the lad from Celtic, I think he'll find himself out of the side.
He sat behind us on Tues with his family and mates, looked unimpressed but would imagine he's fairly confident about getting in the side based on what he's seen so far. who was the last player we signed from Celtic....?
