We have a smaller squad than last year and are hoping that nobody gets injured or suspended before the next transfer window in January. Can't see miracles happening in this part of south yorkshire because both of these will happen at some point. The board must believe in fairies.(wnkr)

    Additionally

Players who are currently out of contract can also be signed at any time.

There are LOADS for players in that boat. Recently, Colin Healy was such an example.

It is a TRANSFER dealine only.

Yeah but will Healy get a chance? With Howard and Togwell in the form that they are in.

    Well Steve..

Seems like we're two of the few not panicking.

Why would we rush into signing players permanently when we can loan them when it becomes urgent? Seems blatantly sensible to me. Particularly since the club have to pay back some of the money to the JVC thing for the loan they got from the council soon, think it's October.

At the beginning of the season..

    i think you said

"we dont have to sign now, we have until the end of August"

It does mean something else it would not be in place.

OK the loan market looks like our only option now until January.

If we get a few more injuries / suspensions we could be up **** creek.

Then come January who will come to a relegation threatened outfit?

    I said that?

If I did, then it was because I wasn't aware we were still able to loan players.

We're 14th in the table right now, if we lose to Stoke and lose the following game, then by all means, we can start thinking we're in trouble. But we've been outclassed once - when we had 10 men for 80 minutes.

Emergency time? I don't think so - the loan market is there for us to use, as it was when we got Nardiello/Chopra.

If we lose the next two

its too feckin late to strengthen other than loans, probably who no fecker else wants.

It no good AR/GS going on about our interest in players (pre season and now), insinuating that we need to strengthen, then failing to do so - likely more by lack of trying.

    Its all been poorly handled.
