I Would tell em to **** off

400 000 is a great offer for a player out of contract, i no they would get some money for him from a tribunal but doubt it would be this much.

Mark has some great contacts. We find out more on his website than our official one. Chesterfield should be told to **** off and then they will have a player on their books annoyed at not being given the chance to move up two leagues.

he would have great contacts, he's a club employee according to the chronicle

But what is the point in us getting information if it is all biased? Propaganda with pretty pictures is still propaganda

The agent is the key to the way this has ben handled ....

The Reds' policy is not to make public statements until the deal is done, so it must be Ward's agent who has done this. His motive is bound to be to make the best deal for player and club (Chesterfield). I hope that we stick to our guns on this one and don't get drawn into offering silly money for a League 2 striker 'with potential.' The policy is good. Let's stick to it. If the deal is not completed in principle by 4pm, we should withdraw our offer. Ward would need a set of step-ladders at Blunts to reach any of their high balls and Derby are involved in the cup tonight. Also they have a new manager, who will want to make his own assessments - a chip off the old block? Remember that it was Fenton who signed David Currie for Forest, not Cloughie. Cloughie wouldn't play him. Was it on this board that I read the following alleged conversation between Clough snr and Currie: Cloughie: "Who the hell are you?" Currie: I'm David Currie. You signed me from Barnsley." Cloughie: "No I didn't. You're rubbish." A few days later .... Currie: "I am buying a house in Nottingham." Cloughie: "I shouldn't bother because you won't be staying."

It was the same with several players signed by Fenton, not Clough.

Why did Cloughie say Currie was the worst player he'd ever signed...if he didn't ?
