    What is the preferred etiquette for a gentleman to proffer a reply on this board?

    For the benefit of threaded view users one assumes one should endevour to reply to the exact post one is referring to. However, for the consideration of the linear mode viewers, should one quote the dialogue of the antecedent post? One doesn't want to suffer from frightful and excessive verbiage! Per contra, one wants to ameliorate one's self, what!
