Why is everybody so scared of him? Having said that, I wish we had a manager who showed some fighting spirit..
Re: So Fergie gets away scot free from his rantings at the referee and linesman - aga Why were you expecting anything else? Fergie runs the game in Britain .
Re: So Fergie gets away scot free from his rantings at the referee and linesman - aga Why is it always Fergie though? Why does nobody ever pick up on what other managers say or do. Don't get me wrong, I can't stand fergie, or Man Utd, but with some people (I don't mean you), it borders obsession the dislike they have for them for no real reason.
Re: So Fergie gets away scot free from his rantings at the referee and linesman - aga It's not a dislike it's jealousy. Apparently
Re: So Fergie gets away scot free from his rantings at the referee and linesman - aga People dont like winners
Re: So Fergie gets away scot free from his rantings at the referee and linesman - aga Other managers are banned/ fined for outbursts at officials though mate, Fergie gets away with 99% of everything he does and says. From his attacks on officials to other managers , he never gets brought to book.Sorry , rarely gets brought to book!
Re: So Fergie gets away scot free from his rantings at the referee and linesman - aga They don't like cheats either
Re: So Fergie gets away scot free from his rantings at the referee and linesman - aga He should be sent up in the stands for the season. Mind you if Hill got out of his bunker now and again and showed some balls instead of whinging and whining in the press conference after...
Re: So Fergie gets away scot free from his rantings at the referee and linesman - aga For many years (when out with the lads etc) I've been happy to defend MUFC against the ABU types, however Sir Fergie's behaviour over the past ten years (or so) makes it impossible for me to defend him, and I can understand why he alone might lead a number of fans to want United beaten. He increasingly seems incapable of acting like anything other than the most massive lovely person. It's fair to say that as a club manager his achievements are arguably beyond comparison, however as a role model, ambassador, and elder statesman of the game, he is frankly a disgrace and a genuine embarrassment. The fact he's a knight of the realm exacerbates this and I only wish the Government had the ballocks to look at his behaviour over the last 10/20 years and take the honour off him again. The comparison between 'Sir' Alex and a genuine ambassador/statesman type like Bobby Charlton is enough to make anyone weep.
Re: So Fergie gets away scot free from his rantings at the referee and linesman - aga Not sure about this "squeaky clean" image everyone seems to have about Bobby Charlton - having been involved in some of his commercial banking dealings in the 1990s (mainly his soccer schools) I would beg to differ on the "genuine ambassador / statesman" description. "Pompous ****" would be one of the more generous descriptions I would have of him. I have others that I would not publish on an internet forum.
Re: So Fergie gets away scot free from his rantings at the referee and linesman - aga Is a fair point CT, perhaps I should switch comparators from Bobby Charlton to someone like Trevor Brooking? Whoever you choose Fergie is a poor comparison!
Re: So Fergie gets away scot free from his rantings at the referee and linesman - aga When all is said and done, Fergie, who I have always admired, is not exactly showering himself in glory at the moment, indeed over the past few tears with his continued rants. I am amazed that nothing is going to be done about his abuse of the linesman yesterday - I saw it live and thought that it was truly unprofessional.
