That, allied to his comments that seem to suggest that we've got to the transfer window without identifying targets leads me to ask just what actually happens with the recruitment part of 'the plan' - we seem quite adept at getting shut of players but not so at getting them back in, certainly those of Championship quality - especially centre forwards.

Let's hope that can change under the new regime. Going to be a difficult remainder of this season, I'm not expecting too much from this transfer window as it sounds like the recruitment dept hasn't done its homework up to press. Puts the new owners in a bit of limbo.

 

I think one of our previous managers referred to it as "layering".

Unfortunately we cant layer 18 players such as turnaround on players has been.

If the plan let 1 or 2 go then we dont have an entire "layer" trying to make the step up/grade at the same time.

Also the next layer isnt yet quite capable of that step up then you are going to hinder development if you just cash in anyway
