Bet teams will be published just after half one when reduced price deadline expires - and Diego can't play!

If diego was signed when we were told he was signed then he can play

RE: If diego was signed when we were told he was signed then he can play

I think the problem is his registration with the Football League and FA because he hasn't come from a club that is registered to them. If he had come from another English club then he would have just had to have been signed before 12 yesterday. Because he came from abroad he needs to be registered 7 days before. So I am lead to believe by a lad at work who normally knows his stuff. But we will know for sure in an hour or so.

I've just checked. Here it is from the FA's official rules

    (i) A “registered player” is one who is either, in the case of a player under written
contract, registered with The Association or, in the case of a player without a written contract, registered with a League in which his Club competes in the current season. Any such registration must have been received and accepted by The Association or League by 12 noon on the Friday previous to the date fixed for playing the Round, and the registration must be continuous through to the date of the match.

(ii) In order to be eligible to play in the Final, the players must have been correctly registered and eligible for the Semi Final Round of the Competition.

(iii) An International Transfer Certificate for Players coming from overseas associations (including Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland) takes precedence over a Player’s registration. Therefore, this is also required by 12 noon on the Friday previous to the date fixed for playing the Round for the Player’s registration to be valid.

The last section I believe is the one covering Diego and it says that a player coming from abroad must be signed by 12 noon yesterday to be able to play today. There is no mention of 7 days.
The odd thing is that Simon Davey appears to have said that he won't be able to play today which seems to indicate that either he wasnt signed before 12 noon yesterday or for some reason Davey has misread the rules?

Yh, i remember the Davey interview when he said that Leon couldn't play. Seems there is some confusion at the club.

Wasn't there some confusion a couple of years back about whether or not Matt Carbon had been booked 5 times or not as well?

To be honest I don't associate the word 'organised' with the club.
