First thing, safe journey to all those travelling to Portman Road tomorrow. Secondly, it's been many a long year since I've had a buzz about the start of a new season like this one. We're in strange territory in some ways, with I think, lower expectations but a hungry team that could deliver above and beyond that. That's not to say they will, but for the first time in a long time I'm simply prepared to let things happen and I really hope the sense of unity that developed from Boxing day onwards continues, even if we're struggling. There's optimism for the first time in years, no doubt realism will kick in at some point, but let's enjoy what we have in front of us and keep the faith, something I'll freely admit that I'd lost by November last year. I know survival would be success. I just hope we do it with a bit of purpose, passion and no little skill. Entertain me on the way. COYR Sent from my SM-T710 using Tapatalk
Well said! For some reason I'm off to Ipswich tomorrow. Must be optimism and the need to see the Reds play again. Will miss first three home games cos of hols and so first game would be Reading at home on Sept 17 ! COYR
Think we will surprise a lot of teams , momemtum from last season still with us and am optimistic for a great season again
Going to be an interesting season - my only fear is we have a manager and a team who have forgotten how to lose - be interesting to see how we react to a few defeats. Having said that I think we may surprise a few with a couple more additions
Well said! 9am start - can't wait! A long, tough 9 months ahead with many ups and downs I'm sure. We wouldn't have it any other way!
