so we find ourselves in a similar position to wednesday 12 months ago, scraping through the playoffs with low 70s points. People said they would struggle - and they did, but they managed to turn it around towards the end of the season.
I never took much note of their squad, or whether they had to buy more to turn it around, but I cannot remember them having any brilliant players.
So how does our current squad compare to the team that wednesday had 12 months ago - which ultimately survived the drop.

I would say we have about the same strength in depth but players who are maybe more suited to playing at a higher level,on the face of it im sure we have a better team that they had. Wednesday lost so many matches at home last season and still stayed up. Im hopefull.

RE: opening day team is your point that the starting team was so crap that they had to change it completely, else they would have been relegated
RE: opening day team That last-day team is perhaps not a fair representation of the Pigs' squad. Sadly, they were already safe by that point and could afford to play a weakened side.
