VW owners will not find that a fix for emissions affects fuel performance, VW MD Paul Willis says. The brief VW engineers are working to is that there "cannot be any change in the miles per gallon", and that the cars maintain the same fuel consumption.

So how are they going to achieve that since the cheat mode on the software switched off the systems that reduces NOX emissions (but increases fuel consumption). It is widely accepted that anti-polluting devices such as DPFs, catalytic convertors and NOX reduction systems significantly impact the efficiency of the engine power output.

Has 'Sooty' joined the VW technical team with his wand............"Izzy-Wizzy lets get busy!!"?
