    That would be a shame. He's not on my wish list, but if he's appointed I'd back him.</p>

    knowing our fans, almost certainly.....

    ...which would add to the disastrous nature of the appointment. I would like to think I'd back him, but the sick feeling I get in the pit of my stomach when I even think about the idea suggests otherwise.
