Or a raving nutjob who sets out to do the opposition's players ?

First twenty minutes on Saturday he was the first. Midfield was getting over run, Semedo/Lee were winning everything.

Then when we went down to ten something clicked. He was all over, the only lad on the pitch with any real class and ran it for us (when we could get him the ball anyway).

That's why you play him centrally and the fact Danny seems to have brought in a midfielder to let him do that shows he knows what he's doing.

I thought he was absolutely outstanding on Saturday. And I've never subscribed to this 'heart of a pea' theory.

It`s what Mellis haters use to make their point stand out more. A bit like those that called Flicker sidekick.

I don't know to be honest hot and cold sums him up, but not sure if he's good enough or not I just think he's like a few of our players with the right coaching and a little more confidence he could move on to the next level, but in his case I wonder if he wants it enough to put in the hard graft only time will tell

I think if he was the finished/complete article he'd still be at Chelsea. At our level I think he's one of the best we've got. He's a ball player, creative, not a runaround midfield enforcer.

I'm not a massive fan of Mellis, too many games pass him by in my opinion. But to be fair he put the graft in saturday, and didnt have anyone to pass to up front once O'grady was took off.

Dawson on the other hand was Wednesadys most creative player in the second half.

I thought he had a good game. Played centrally and in the right role, I think he's great for us. He had an abhorration for the red, but I can't fault his workrate under Danny

As for Dawson, I really worry that Danny seems to rate him. Awful again

Wasn't he dropped as soon as he brought another central midfielder in?

I think Danny's recruiting of Lawrence, Woods and Frimpong, plus the back to fitness of Digby and Hassell, means Dawson will be struggling to get a game if his last two performances are owt to go on.

Still in the squad above Digby and Hassell (unless they were injured). Still brought on ahead of Lawrence. I don't buy that he's better any of those.

He's doesn't always compete for 50-50's & has never won a header in his life (this is probably not true but you get the point).

The fact that every so often he loses his head & jumps into a tackle doesn't really change this, it just means he's a bit easy to wind up.

However I'd still start him every game in the middle as he's more technically gifted than the rest of our midfielders & puts himself about just enough to warrant his inclusion.
