we won. We had just had a run of 3 defeats in a row, with the sacking of a manager thrown in too. Morale and confidence was obviously well down...... which was shown in bucket loads at Crawley last week. Today the first half was poor.... but the second half did improve a lot , and we won. We climbed a place or too, we put a bit more light between us and the drop zone. The players have to take responsibility a lot but when morale and confidence is rock bottom then its bloody hard. Before anyone asks too, NO I was not there I had to rely on the Player commentary. Winnall was on it ...some of the things he said were interesting, it seemed morale/confidence and frustration is indeed rife. I am not trying to defend or criticise here but I am saying that we are not as bad a squad as some might say, we need a man to come in and give the confidence and steel back to the lads. Also I am not gonna be daft enough to say the play-offs are our aim . But in the way this topsey turvey league has been so far you never bloody know. Bottom line is that I think at Crawley we may well have hit the very bottom... today we gradually got better during the course of the game., we won, we had a clean sheet, be grateful for that. Perhaps now would be a good time to look at positives and give praise to the players however large or small that might be.
