    Complete speculation!

Almost as big a story as the pope wearing a hat (sorry I still can't get over how that made the main news bulletin)

In the penultimate round of voting London was leading and Paris were 2 ahead of Madrid. The Greek delegate meant to vote for Madrid instead of Paris so that vote would have tied it and the London voters would have been polled to select between Paris and Madrid. Now this is where it's all down to speculation - they then reckon all the London voters would have gone for Madrid rather than Paris. And then in the final round all the Paris voters would have voted Madrid.

    RE: miserable bugger

Who's complaining about the pope wearing a silly hat?

It was the fact it made it as a main news story!
