When you came here you promised us the players would have sweat on their shirts. First game in and that promise has already been broken. We strolled through that defeat.

Too many players seem happy to turn up for a nice kickabout without bothering to actually affect the game. We looked like a squad of losers today

We looked like a team who thought they just needed to be there to win past a lower league team.

After last season that's what we are unfortunately. It can and may take a while to change the culture imo.

Carry over from last season. Wouldn't be surprised if Duff is questioning why the **** he came here.
Look at the ***** he's got to work with. Players that can't be arsed and can't do the basics. Kitchin, Cole and Benson are ******* donkeys and would struggle in the national league.

We can't blame duff already for that. He would have expected more I hope- we can only judge him now on who he drops and picks to rectify it

While i get the sentiment of the OP this was never going to be a short term fix. We are a broken club and its going to take a long time to reverse the catastrophe of last season both on and off the field

Don't make promises you can't keep. There wasn't enough effort today. Nowhere near enough, we accepted defeat. Duff promised that wouldn't be the case. I can therefore question him on his words.

It was remarkable how much effort suddenly appeared from nowhere in the last 5 to 10 minutes. Urgency, effort, purpose. Where was that for the rest of the match?

Perhaps it was our masterplan to save our energy for a death or glory final attack.

Exactly my point. Duff can make all the right nosies but when he's dealing with ***** and players that dont want to put the effort in then there's going to be problems.

Ahmen hes had decent players sold for money replaced with frees and some of the ***** he has to pick from is bad. I said in my prediction id be happy with stabilization this season and building on that because he has one tough job.

Theres a old saying you can take a horse to water you cant make it drink and some of these players are a lost cause not really duffs fault.

Looked like we needed too much time on the ball and were exposed by an experienced team at this level.
Powder puff upfront and at best neat n tidy in patches.
    I expected a 2...0 loss...lucky it wasn't a lot more today

I agree, the quality in the squad is severely lacking. Plymouth had better players than us. But they also worked much harder.

If, in your very first interview, you make this big speech about how hard your team is going to work, and then you have all pre-season to make that happen, more time than you're going to have for the next 9 months, but in your first game in charge the team that you trained and you picked simply go through the motions, I'm going to question you on it.

I already know the quality in the squad isn't what we would like, but that doesn't excuse lack of effort.

I imagine he wont be happy but he probably didnt invision he had so many bone idle players to pick from back then. I dont envy his job one bit.
